How to Remove and Replace the iPhone 16 Battery

Preparation: Make sure your iPhone's battery is below 25% to avoid safety hazards.
Opening the Device: Use a P2 Pentalobe Screwdriver to remove the two screws next to the charging port. If the screen or back glass is cracked, apply packing tape to the crack. Use a suction cup or opening pick to create a gap between the back glass and the frame. Be careful not to insert too deep to avoid damaging internal components.
Removing the Back Glass: Use a hair dryer or Heat Gun to heat the edges of the back glass until it is hot to the touch, which will help loosen the adhesive. Carefully slide an opening pick around the edges to separate the adhesive and loosen any clips securing the rear glass. Once the rear glass is removed, carefully lift it off.
Disconnecting Components: Use a tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing any covers on the connectors. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector, being careful not to damage any surrounding components.
Removing the Battery: If your battery has adhesive tabs, gently pull on them to remove the battery. If they break, you may need to apply more heat or use a suction cup handle for a better grip.
Installing the New Battery: Lower the new battery into place and align it with the connector on the logic board to reconnect it.
Reassemble your device by following the disassembly steps in reverse, making sure all screws have been replaced and components are securely connected.
Final Steps: Before fully sealing the device, power on the device to test that everything is working properly.
