About iPhone Battery

iPhone batteries are designed to retain 80% of their capacity for up to 500 charge cycles, which typically lasts for around 18–24 months for most users. However, as time passes, the iPhone battery in your phone may degrade, causing it to lose its ability to hold a charge. This can lead to shorter battery life and slower performance.

How to Replace iPhone 12 Mini Battery

It can be complicated to replace the battery in an iPhone 12 Mini. The good news is that with the right tools and an appropriate guide, anyone can replace an iPhone battery successfully. In addition, we used innovative methods and advanced tools in this guide to increase success rates. Please find below a step-by-step guide that will assist you:

Step 1: Remove the iPhone 12 Mini BatteryThe first step is to separate the old battery from the iPhone 12 Mini. In order to accomplish this, we used the REFOX RS52 Cell Phone Screen Holder. As soon as the battery has been removed, it is important to peel off the protective tape and remove the bracket.
1. Turn off your iPhone 12 Mini and remove the two screws located at the bottom edge of the phone using a Pentalobe screwdriver.

2. Use a suction cup to lift the display assembly away from the rear case, and use a spudger to gently separate the display assembly from the rear case.

3. Remove the five screws that secure the battery connector bracket using a Phillips screwdriver and then remove the bracket. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the logic board.

4. Remove the adhesive strips that hold the battery in place using a pry tool. Use a spudger to gently pry the battery up from the adhesive securing it to the iPhone and remove it from the phone.

Step 2: Remove the Battery BMS Board
The next step is to remove the battery BMS board. To separate the BMS board, remove the protective tape carefully, remove the bracket, and use ceramic scissors to disconnect the anode and cathode.

Step 3: Grinding And Soldering

Now you need to use a PHONEFIX grinding pen to grind the solder point. Put the battery cell into the welding clamp fixture, and settle the cathode lead and anode lead under the BMS board. Be sure to align the anode and cathode leads, respectively. After aligning the battery leads, solder them with the spot welder.
After soldering the leads, fold them well and put them on the protection bracket. Then, wrap another layer of protection tape around the outside. Connect the tag-on flex to the battery and fold it to the right position.

Step 4: Install the New Battery
Install the new battery back into your iPhone 12 Mini and turn it on.
Step 5: Check Battery Health
Click “Settings>Battery>Battery Health & Charging” and then check the battery condition. You should see that the maximum capacity is 100%.

Note: To boot up, you must connect the power cable or use the same type of battery.

The New Method

In the past, restoring the battery health data for the iPhone 12 Mini required using special tools like a cell phone repair battery programmer, battery sensors, and a connecting cable. But now, the new pre-programmed battery add-on has made the process much easier and quicker.
The new way to fix the battery data when replacing the battery cell is similar to the old method. The main goal is to move the original Battery control board to the new battery. This lets the phone recognize the new battery as the same as the original, avoiding the pop-up message.
After connecting the PHONEFIX Pre-programmed Battery Repair Flex Cable, you can just restart the phone directly. You no longer need to connect a power cable or use the same battery type to get the phone running again.
