Fix iPhone 12 Pro Max Not Charging Issue in 2025

After opening the iPhone, use a digital multimeter to measure the iPhone charging port. The measured resistance value is abnormal, indicating that there are two short circuits.

Open the JC Intelligent Drawing to check the iPhone 12 Pro Max circuit diagram, we found that both of these paths lead to the iPhone charging chip, we need to replace this iPhone charging IC. According to Phonefix's observation, this charging chip is SN2611A0, which is a vulnerable IC in the iPhone and one of the ICs that needs to be replaced most frequently.



Remove the iPhone motherboard and fix it with the motherboard holder fixture, use a hot air gun to heat the iPhone charging IC, and use tweezers to remove this IC. Clean the pad with a desoldering wick, apply some solder paste, take a new iPhone charging IC SN2611A0, align the position, and blow gently with a hot air gun to install it. Phonefix recommends that the iPhone motherboard chip replacement operation be performed under a microscope.



Now measured again with a digital multimeter, the measured resistance value is normal.

Install the iPhone motherboard back to the iPhone, buckle the iPhone battery and iPhone screen. Plug in the iPhone charging cable, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max can be charged normally. The iPhone 12 Pro Max charging failure has been repaired.
